For me the significance of this video includes:
1. Zinn is willing to support a place at the table for 9/11 truth advocates. He stated that as long as the conference has at least 22 presenters that we should be allowed to speak. Please contact me if you want to help make a list of such conferences and lobby for inclusion of our speakers. Big time left gatekeepers are likely to be less open minded than grassroots followers who would have no apologies to make. That is why we would go to these conferences.
2. Zinn asserts our case is too complicated. I urge us to discuss what single pieces of evidence standing alone are each sufficient to move us beyond whatever threshold we are seeking (real investigation, convictions, etc.)
3. All leftists should be susceptible to the argument that proof of inside job should undercut racist stereotypes of Muslim terrorists.
4. We should be able to find other major leftists who would agree to the importance of looking not just at civil liberties, but also resisting full blown police state with martial law. Truthers, leftists, and conservatives should be able to agree to work in coalition on this issue without getting bogged down in their disagreements.

Hi David –
ReplyDeleteI watched your interview with Howard Zinn and tried to post the following comment. For some reason the comment would not post; the page kept chucking me errors.
Either way, I wanted to pass along my thoughts; post them if you wish.
…Best of luck with all your efforts in spreading The Truth. And thank you for them.

911 Was “Another” Inside Job!
Funny - he thinks it's important, but there are other more important things.
Everything that is being done around the world, foreign and domestic, the spending, surveillance, torture, death, all of it, all based on this one "spurious" tale and he thinks there are more important things. Has he looked at the jobless rate, lately or the homelessness, the state of the economy, the debt and deficit? All of that has ballooned, dramatically, because of one thing - 911. And he thinks there are more important, issues - lol!
Yes, perhaps, if the point is to distract you and get you to live in that world where it's still alright and going to be okay. Zinn is like that guy in the towers on 911...telling everyone to go back to work; it’s all okay.
I wouldn't take this guy's advice or trust him as far as I could throw him.
And the genius thinks it's easier to prove a jet dropped bombs on people, then one having crashed in an "empty" field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania - LOL!!!
The problem here is this guys job is to shill. And that's all he's saying and all he's doing. This is the same ad-hominem garbage that Noam Chomsky peddles - get lost; the boat has sailed. These types have no credibility with me or a lot of people, any more. He's either delusional or a liar. My money is on liar.
There is not jet in that field. There is no jet at the pentagon, because you can't fit a 100 ton jet through a 15 ft. hole and there is no explanation for the actions, or rather, lack-there-of, of the Secret Service; given that they did not know the nature, source, nor extent of the attack - during the attack.
911 was not an inside job.
911 Was "Another" Inside Job.
And it is people like Zinn and Chomsky who perpetuate the myth, that is our history; JFK, MLK, RFK, the Gulf of Tonkin, The USS Liberty...and on and on and on. Zinn and all like him are nothing but BS artists and liars; quick with the non-sequitur and jejune, argument; a cacophony of words which says nothing - hot air. His arguments wouldn't stand up under rigorous cross-examination. He would have to do what he does in this video - obfuscate.
911 Was "Another" Inside Job!
And more and more people are waking up to that. And that - has "them" concerned.
My advice - turn people like this Zinn fellow, off.
One last thing - I think any time these people are interviewed, they should be asked to declare if they are members of any secret or private organizations or societies - Masons, Bilderberg, Bohemian grove, council of foreign relations, etc.
I for one, would love to know if Mr. Zinn is a member of any of these groups or if he has attended any of their meetings; either as a guest or speaker.
Thanks Brian for your persistence in posting me.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to both agree and disagree with different parts of your post.
"Everything that is being done around the world, foreign and domestic, the spending, surveillance, torture, death, all of it, all based on this one "spurious" tale and he thinks there are more important things. Has he looked at the jobless rate, lately or the homelessness, the state of the economy, the debt and deficit? All of that has ballooned, dramatically, because of one thing - 911. And he thinks there are more important, issues - lol!"
While I don't agree all of the problems you list should be placed on the shoulders of 911 the event, I do see real value in the position that 911 is too significant for Zinn to take a position that it should be ignored.
"And the genius thinks it's easier to prove a jet dropped bombs on people, then one having crashed in an "empty" field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania - LOL!!!"
The only reason there's any problem with exposing what happened at Shanksville is that all communications institutions are involved with suppression of that evidence. It's quite striking that they cover up Shanksville better that they suppress the killing of innocent families.Your comparison has some poetic merit.
There is also merit to your phrase, "another" inside job, as long as you get the chance to explain. However, it's unfair to suggest Zinn or especially Chomsky didn't warn the American public of Tonkin. They're the main people who raised that issue.
The interesting example is whether or not they've addressed the USS Liberty. I don't follow them closely enough, but I've never heard them address it. Zinn, though of Jewish heritage, is a leader in opposing Zionist suppression of dialog in the US. Chomsky is clearly the most hated US citizen by most American Zionists. It would be in their interest to address the USS Liberty.
The murder of MLK certainly deserves greater attention.
"My advice - turn people like this Zinn fellow, off."
I strongly disagree. The point is not that we can't move forward without him. The point is that Chomsky and Zinn have misunderstood, just because they don't want to, their own stated interests. Thus, those who admire them SHOULD give us support. These admirers are reachable because they should see the potential of progress in fighting the racist stereotype of the Arab terrorists. They should also see value in stronger defense of civil liberties. On both points Zinn's answer gave us some support.
"One last thing - I think any time these people are interviewed, they should be asked to declare if they are members of any secret or private organizations or societies - Masons, Bilderberg, Bohemian grove, council of foreign relations, etc."
This request is not beyond reason since these groups should be discussed more openly. In the case of Zinn or Chomsky, I feel confident they are at odds with these groups. This is why they and their admirers are not serving their own interests.
Recently I read that Chomsky discouraged research into the CFR. When I was his student in the 70's he recommended a study of the CFR called The Imperial Brain Trust, by Lawrence Shoup and William Minter. I guess Noam has changed his mind. I look forward to asking him about it.
Your conclusion that Zinn and Chomsky are liars is quite problematic. It implies you can read their minds. Most people would conclude such a claim is insane. Since they often consider our claims of treason and responsibility for 911 to be insane, it's important to show on a regular basis that as truthers we DO know the difference between evidence and theory.
One of the reasons Chomsky is so revered is that he discourages a focus on personal attacks toward anyone. The evidence needs to be enough for the truth movement, too. The theories are counterproductive.
One of the most important aspects of this interview is that Zinn admits we should be able to speak at large enough conferences. This is potentially huge. Do you really think we should miss this opportunity?
Zinn says, "If terrorist acts occur, and they do, and 9/11 was one of them."
ReplyDeleteThis shows that in spite of his reluctant willingness for "others" to pursue this topic, it is not sufficient and is too complicated and their are more important things to do, his preconception and belief in the official story is obvious. I think people of the age Noam and Howard can be great critics of policy but cannot conceive of being citizens of a country such as Nazi Germany and cannot imagine such a "big lie" occurred on their watch.
Brian summed things up better than I could. They're selfish narcissistic celebrity ego-driven phonies and shills. Dave you read Gilad Atzmon's analysis of the "left" - and how cheaply it prostitutes itself.
